Urban residential segregation refers to the separation of different racial or socioeconomic groups into distinct residential areas within a city. This phenomenon can be seen in many cities around the world, where certain neighborhoods are predominantly inhabited by people of a certain race or income level. Residential segregation can perpetuate social and economic inequalities, as it can limit access to resources and opportunities for marginalized groups. It can also contribute to social isolation, mistrust, and discrimination between different racial or socioeconomic groups. efforts to address urban residential segregation include promoting affordable housing, implementing policies to promote integration, and addressing systemic discrimination and inequality.
